Lisa
began her path to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist three years
ago when she entered her first year at Oregon College of Oriental
Medicine (OCOM), a graduate program for Acupuncture and Chinese
Medicine. It was during the first quarter at OCOM that she was
introduced to Zen Shiatsu. Lisa
fell in love with this amazing healing technique and didn’t want to
wait to complete her 4 year program at OCOM to begin doing this
work. Six months later she began taking the additional massage
courses at Oregon School of Massage that are needed to sit for the
National and Oregon massage boards. She received her license in
massage therapy in December of 2005 and specializes in
Zen Shiatsu and
Basic Swedish.
In her
first year at OCOM she also met Reiki Master John Motley,
L.Ac who eventually became her Reiki
instructor. In April of 2004 she became a Level 1 practitioner and in
June 2004 she attained Level 2. Lisa enjoys combining her massage
work with Reiki during sessions and
finds clients feel more relaxed and at peace for longer with the
addition of Reiki into a massage
session. She is hoping to complete her Reiki
master level in 2006.
Lisa is
also excited to be entering her final year at OCOM as an Acupuncture
intern in the student clinic in September 2006. This symbolizes the
final step before becoming a licensed Acupuncturist at the end of
2007.
